We are in the process of commercialising our technologies by building chemical process plants and are therefore now in need of a Controller that manages the financials for the German entities, EasyMining Germany GmbH and Phoshorgewinnung Schkopau GmbH.

Job Brief

We are constructing our first Ash2Phos plant in Schkopau. Therefore, we are seeking a candidate who is willing to take responsibility for ensuring that our plant stays on track, aligns with budgets, and achieve its objectives. With your commitment and expertise, you can play a decisive role in shaping the future of resource utilization in this position.

Your Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the parent company in Sweden and the joint venture in Germany
• Controlling ongoing projects in Germany, from timelines to invoicing
• Supporting construction projects and monitoring their progress
• Project work in the areas of accounting and controlling
• Developing the structures for the German subsidiary across all relevant areas
• Close collaboration across company departments both nationally and internationally

Your Profile:

• Fluent in German and English (both spoken and written)
• Degree in Business Administration, Controlling, or similar qualifications
• Experience in project work, both in controlling and accounting, or similar areas
• Preferred: Strong knowledge of subsidies and collaboration with government authorities
• Solid experience in project management of national and international projects

EasyMining is an innovation company within the Swedish environmental company Ragn-Sells that develops, designs, and builds patented processes for the production of clean products from waste. Ragn-Sells is a Swedish waste and recycling company operating in 5 countries with an annual turnover of above 850 M€ and approximately 2800 employees. GELSENWASSER is a German utilities company operating in the fields of water, wastewater, gas and electricity. The company is one of Germany´s largest in the water-business and specialises in renewable resources. In 2021, Phoshorgewinnung Schkopau GmbH was formed by GELSENWASSER AG and EasyMining Services Sweden AB to build the first Ash2Phos-plant in the world.The plant will be built at the Schkopau Chemical Park in the Saxony-Anhalt region in eastern Germany, and will have capacity to receive 30 000 ton ash from incinerated sewage sludge per year. From this raw material it will produce high quality phosphorus, iron and aluminum products.

Background

The recovery and recycling of nutrients, such as phosphorus, nitrogen, and potassium, from society back to agriculture are crucial for a sustainable world. Phosphorus and potassium are scarce resources on which the EU heavily relies, importing them predominantly from Morocco and Russia. The manufacturing of mineral nitrogen fertilizers, along with the necessary biological methods for treating nitrogen-containing wastewaters, consumes significant amounts of energy and chemicals. Moreover, the established virgin-based processes result in emissions of greenhouse gases and ammonia, impacting climate, causing eutrophication, and contributing to acidification in nature. EasyMining has developed several patented processes that enable the recovery of clean commercial products using waste as raw materials. Examples of our processes include phosphorus recovery from incinerated sewage sludge ashes (Ash2Phos), nitrogen recovery and energy reduction from nitrogen-containing wastewaters (Aqua2N), and the extraction of salts from fly ash created through the incineration of municipal waste (Ash2Salt).
